Whether you're chasing that perfect shot for your feed or just soaking in the crunchy leafy vibes, our list of must-visit parks and hotspots has got you covered, along with special events to celebrate the autumn spirit.
Only a 5-minute walk away from Hostel G Perth, Hyde Park is the closest and easiest place to reach to soak up the autumn vibes. It’s easily one of Perth’s most popular hangout spots, with plenty of beautiful scenery to spruce up your feed. A diverse offering of cafes, restaurants, and eateries are also available by the park - so you could easily spend a whole day there and never go bored or hungry! Our tip? Enjoy a buttery, flakey croissant and coffee from CHU Bakery as you take in the views.

If you’re planning a family outing or gathering, Raeburn Orchards is an absolute must-visit during the autumn season! You’ve probably seen this place and its warm, lively, artisanal vibes all over social media - with people taking the most amazing (even engagement photos!) shots around the fruit trees.
A family-owned and operated business since 1948, Raeburn Orchards grows fruits such as apples, pomegranates, pears, and persimmons, as well as local honey, nuts, and other artisanal products. Bring your picnic mats for a truly dreamy experience, or just spend a wholesome day with loved ones.
Open daily from 9am - 5pm, entry fee for adults is $5, and children under 12 years old get free entry. For more information, visit their website here.

Located just a 35-minute drive away, S&R Orchards holds an annual Autumn Festival, where the orchards will get decorated with fun props and beautiful arches for that perfect photo op. You’d recognise them by their bright orange mini car, van, flower booth, and telephone booth!
When you’re not taking awesome snaps, visit their many food vans for ice-cream treats or get comfy with a cup of coffee or tea. Other activities also include tractor rides, making new friends at the animal farm, and a bouncy castle for the little ones.

While Araluen Botanic Park is a spot that can be enjoyed no matter the season, autumn simply hits different as the trees take on the warm and rich tones of red, yellow, and gold. Together with its distinct water features, the park itself is also home to various species of Australian and international flora, making it the perfect place for lounging, relaxing, and even bird-watching.
If you’re looking to make a fun outing of the day, the park also features electric BBQ areas where you can picnic at or have a full on cookout!
Fun fact: The name ‘Araluen’ is an aboriginal word which according to the Young Australia League, means ‘a place where waters meet’, or ‘a place of water lilies’.

Hop on the public transport for 26 minutes or take a quick 16-minute drive from Hostel G Perth and you’ll find yourself at Subiaco Common, a super chill park that’s great for casual hangouts and gatherings. There are a few picnic shelters and BBQ pits where you can have your outdoor feast, with the gorgeous reddish orange trees and the lake as your backdrop. And if you’re lucky, you may even meet some of the graceful black swans swimming by!

You don’t even have to hit up local parks to check out the lovely golden scenes, just head on over to Kintail Road in Applecross the next time you’re taking the scenic route in exploring Perth. The trees that line this long road transform into hues of reddish-orange and yellow, creating a magical canopy-like effect along the street. Definitely a place for leisurely walks, especially if you’re stopping by the nearby cafes!

If you’re looking for someplace lowkey and away from the crowd, take a 40-minute drive or a 1.5-hour public transport trip to Borrello Park. It’s an ideal place if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, and less people in the background of your autumn snapshots! BBQ pits can be found in the park if you’re in the picnic mood, and there’s also a big playground for children (even the overgrown ones!) to play at.

Any season is good for wine, but enjoying a glass - or a bottle - in autumn just hits on a different level. With the cool breeze, cozy atmosphere, and golden leaves - it’s the perfect time to explore the wineries of Swan Valley and go for wine-tasting events! It’s less than an hour’s drive away from Hostel G, perfect for a fancy day trip or a short getaway.

Last but certainly not least - the iconic Kings Park Botanic Garden. Only a 10-minute drive or 25-minute bus ride from Hostel G Perth, it’s a classic place for chill walks, picnics, and hangouts set against beautiful sceneries. Come sunrise or sunset, head on over to the Kings Park Kaarta Gar-up vista point off Fraser Avenue, and you can take in a stunning panorama of Perth City and Swan River basking in rich autumn colours.
